Due to the many hours of care we are providing for your child, it is possible that our staff may be the first people to be aware that there is a problem.
In a registered day care provision a senior member of staff (registered person/deputy) is designated to deal with and record any allegations or concerns and will be the named contact for the local authority and Ofsted.
It is important that any suspicions, indications, allegations of abuse or neglect are recorded at the time (date and time).
If it is apparent that the matter deserves further investigation then the child protection duty officer at Social Services covering the area in which the child lives will be informed, along with the child protection unit, bearing in mind that the welfare of the child is paramount.
Allegations of abuse against a member of staff.
If concerns are raised in relation to the care and treatment of a child, the normal child protection procedures must be followed.
The staff member will be suspended, pending further investigations, in line with our disciplinary procedures.
